The MVMS PTA is excited to announce the winners of the 2019 REFLECTIONS Contest. The following participants moved on to the county-wide competition. They were recognized publicly, live on MVMS TV, and awarded a Medal of Honor and Amazon gift card. We applaud each of these talented students for taking the initiative to participate in the REFLECTIONS contest, congratulate them on being MVMS standouts, and wish them the best of luck going forward in the competition. His piece, "WAVES" is one of three Howard County entries now being passed on to the Maryland State level of the competition. HASSLE FREE DONATIONS AT 74% OF OUR GOAL We have raised $5,208.90 in hassle free donations this year and we thank you all for your generosity. Every dollar raised goes to our programs and this is our major fundraiser for the year - without your much-needed support, we will not be able to meet our proposed program funding levels. Where does your money go? PTA treated the staff to a delicious Back to School luncheon PTA hosted a FUN Welcome Back Block Party for all students and staff PTA will be hosting a Winter Snowball Spectacular evening of fun for students PTA provides funding for each grade level team that is used for social and academic supports To try and reach (or exceed 😘) our target of $7,000.00, the PTA is running a friendly competition between the grades. Any and all donations, regardless of the amount, made between now and our upcoming Snowball Spectacular on Feb7 will count toward grade totals. The grade with the highest number of donations will be rewarded with extended recess!! 2020 Dumpling Day at MVMS for the faculty and staff is January 31! We will be serving approximately 1000 dumplings so we need lots of help. To serve 1000 dumplings, we need parents to bring dumplings. We need parent volunteers to bring approximately 20-40 (1-2 bags) dumplings to school in the morning (7:30am to 9:30am) or contact Daisy at 443-301-5632 or Mannie at 240-712-1085 to schedule a dropoff time on Thursday, January 30. We are looking forward to hosting another successful event to thank the MVMS faculty and staff!! The PTA Meeting scheduled for 12/18 has been cancelled.
There is a Parent Academy on Navigating the College Admissions Process, scheduled for Wednesday, November 13th, from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at Mt. Hebron High School. This presentation is open to all, but most useful for parents of students in 8th - 11th grades.
